Specialist Insurance for Contract Courier Drivers
In recent years, it has become very difficult to obtain Comprehensive Motor Insurance for courier drivers at a reasonable cost.
TCIS Insurance Brokers has completed an Australia Wide survey of Motor Insurance for Couriers and the results were overwhelming in that it is the ad hoc couriers who ferociously compete for single deliveries are involved in more accidents because they are always in a hurry. They get paid only on completion of each delivery and are always rushing around town to get enough business to survive.
But what about Contract Couriers? Each driver has a delivery route, get paid an hourly rate and load their parcels in the morning and deliver to set destinations during the day. These drivers are not couriers, but legitimate transport operators. We call them Contract Couriers.
In conjunction with a major insurer in the Australian insurance industry, TCIS has arranged a Specialist Motor Vehicle Insurance facility to provide cover for Contract Drivers with vehicles up to 2 tonne carrying capacity. Drivers must have at least 2 years experience in contract courier driving and proof of no claims bonus is essential to obtain the most favourable premium.
Contract Couriers also require Public Liability and Marine Transit insurances, both of which can be quoted separately and competitively.
